Bariloche runs along Nahuel Huapi Lake which in the heart of the Andes, one of the most beautiful regions of the world. Located 1000 miles SW from Buenos Aires, it is one of the countries main tourist centers. Together with skiing and riding, it offers all kinds of mountain and lake activities: horse riding, hiking, wind surfing and mountain biking.

The ski season at Cerro Catedral, Bariloche’s ski resort, runs from mid June till early October. July and August have the best and deepest snow. It is the largest ski resort in South America with 1500 ski-able acres, 3000ft rise, 53 runs and a variety of terrain for all levels.
During the 2005 ski season, one fast speed gondola, and two new chairlifts had been added to the existing network, increasing dramatically the efficiency and enjoyment of the ski day. Terrain has widened, confirming Bariloche as the best ski resort in South America. Yet, what amazes visitors is the natural beauty of the mountain with its incomparable landscape.
Throughout the years, Cerro Catedral has established international agreements with other world class resorts. Aspen in the United States and Saint Moritz in Switzerland are sister resorts to Cerro Catedral Alta Patagonia. This has allowed the resort to become member of The Leading Mountain Resorts of the World.
